Crispy and Easy Tahini Tofu |Oven baked, no marinating

This crispy tahini tofu has been my go-to meal lately. It’s so easy to make and it is so tasty. This is a perfect way to try tofu if you’re not sure how to cook it and it’s a twist of the classic tofu condiments out there. If you love tahini you will love this!

Crispy and Easy Tahini Tofu

I love tofu but I always have it with the same sauce. Adding tahini turns out it’s a wonderful idea. I love anything tahini so I could be biased, but the tahini taste itself it’s not so obvious when mixed with the rest of the ingredients. Nonetheless, it’s so delicious!

In this recipe the tofu is baked in the oven and no oil is used. It can be cooked in the pan as well.

I had it as part of a buddha bowl with lots of veggies and rice but the tofu was the star of the show. You can serve it with your favourite side dishes, on top of noodles, with white rice etc

What is tahini?

Tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds and it’s a staple in many cuisines, especially in the Middle East. You might be familiar with how it’s used for hummus and baba ganoush but it’s a very versatile ingredient and I find it perfect for dressings.

The texture is similar to any nut butter but the taste is stronger, nuttier and more savoury. On its own, it can be a bit bitter. It has many health benefits and nutrients.  It is relatively low in calories but high in fiber, protein, and an assortment of important vitamins and minerals.

Is this recipe healthy?

Yes, oven-baked tofu is certainly healthier than pan-fried tofu is used, as no oil is used in baking or in the sauce.
